Shawn Nelson lost his job at a local Boston hospital back in 2021 due to his choice not to get the Covid jab. He was discriminated against by the hospital administration, he was threatened with segregation by his mayor and he was ridiculed as a concerned citizen bringing his grievances to the public officials who are supposed to be his voice in the local government.
Shawn took the high road of resistance to the injustice of discrimination & segregation, speaking out, protesting and sharing his story while so many felt intimidated, harassed and strong-armed into silence.
On June 22, 2022 Shawn Nelson was assaulted by @bostonpolice & arrested on false charges, while peacefully protesting at @MayorWu event at a public park.

Shawn was tackled down by 5+ BPD officers in the public park for using a megaphone to ask @MayorWu if she was going to hire back staff who were fired because of the vax mandates. Wu has been sued over these medical mandates by several groups, including Boston first responders and citizens, but the legal action route is a privilege few can afford. Shawn was speaking out for himself and thousands of others, including a large portion of minority communities, which are so often used as props by Massachusetts politicians and get blatantly ignored when political agenda du jour doesn’t align with the issues raised by these constituents & citizen stakeholders.
Do Black lives only matter when one emphatically agrees with the Mayor Wu’s / dominant political party’s agenda? How can anyone, left / right or anywhere in-between, on the political spectrum stand for this?
Citizens concerned about the erosion of personal freedom and first amendment rights are invited to come support Shawn in court on Monday, Aug 22, 2022 @ 8.30am at the Dorchester Court @ 510 Washington St, Boston 02124.
