“ After 18 L—O—N—-G months and many court dates, Catherine Vitale and I had court again today in West Roxbury District Court.
We face a criminal charge of Disturbing the Peace (for protesting on a public street) and civil charge of violating an unconstitutional ordinance.
For this alleged “crime” (Constitutionally PROTECTED RIGHT) we have been repeatedly forced to present ourselves in court under the strain and hardship it causes ourselves/our family. As the corruption, collusion and cover-up between the City of Boston, The District Court and the Boston Police continue to play out, there is still no end in sight - after 18 months.
This is what the court decided is important and worth pursuing. Moms holding signs saying “free speech is not a crime”- while chanting the message on a public street. They decided to make an example of us, stifle, suppress free speech of those with whom they do not agree.
The DA’s office and courts regularly drop charges for those who call themselves “protestors”- those who assault police officers, destroy property and endanger the public by blocking streets.
Those of us peacefully using our voices to oppose mandates, covid restrictions and to advocate for bodily autonomy, get prosecuted to the fullest extent they can collude and cook up; each party covering their and each other’s misdeeds.
If you believed that the Constitution was the supreme law of the land… then like me -you were deceived.” - Shannon Llewellyn (Jan 5, 2024)
